I was very excited about this month’s theme. I LOVE getting out in nature. It’s incredibly therapeutic. Two of my favorite ways to enjoy nature are hiking and kayaking. By being out in nature you get rewarded with so much pleasure. It’s a feast for the senses – gorgeous sunsets, towering mountain peaks, the starry night sky, the smell of blooming flowers, the calming sound of the birds singing in the trees. As I said, it’s incredibly therapeutic.
So I was really hoping to get out in nature and get some new images for this theme. What with my daughter just getting married (so planning and executing a wedding) and having a full schedule with both of my jobs, as well as it being absolutely brown and dreary outside still here in the Midwest, I just didn’t get out and get any new images. So I’m using some old images I’ve taken.

Another gift from nature is not only the beauty, but also the harvest. What a gift it is to be able to enjoy fresh vegetables from the garden and fresh eggs from the chickens.

If you’re feeling sad or overwhelmed, try getting out in nature. Breath in the fresh air, slow down and listen to the sounds around you, bend down and look at the blades of grass, look up at the sky at the beautiful fluffy clouds. There is so much beauty to behold. It’s been proven that getting out in nature lowers your stress level and boosts your mood. It truly is a gift to be out in nature.
